CLASSICAL & BEYOND - Pianist Gila Goldstein & friends

Renowned Israeli-American pianist, Gila Goldstein, will present her third-ever recital program at NYPA. This time Ms. Goldstein will be joined by her longtime colleagues - percussionist Benny Koonyevsky and accordionist Ronn Yedidia - who will collaborate with her right after finishing her solo program.

Ms. Goldstein will open the evening with solo piano works by Vivaldi/Bach/Nemerovsky (Largo), Mendelssohn (Serious Variations), Chopin (Barcarolle and two Waltzes) and Gershwin (three Preludes).

Mr. Koonyevsky will join Ms. Goldstein in arrangements they both made of B. Strayhorn/O. Peterson (Take the a Train), D. Scarlatti (two Sonatas), J.S. Bach (Prelude in D minor, BWV 875), J.S. Bach/S. Gronich/G. Goldstein (Prelude in C Major, BWV 846), E. Lecuona (La Comparsa) and E. Nazareth (Odeon).

Mr. Yedidia will join his two colleagues in music by Antonio Lauro (Vals Venezolano No. 2), Carlos Bonnet (Vals Venezolano “La Partida”), Five Popular Israeli Songs (by David Zehavi, Traditional Yemenite Melody, Alexander “Sasha” Argov, Naomi Shemer and Matti Caspi), and the concert will close with Astor Piazzolla’s Libertango.
